Eco-Vision

Ecosystem 3.0

image

After the huge success of the first two festivals, Ecosystem 3.0 was again held in Manaus, BR. This time however, Ecosystem was produced independent of governmental and Greenpeace support. Despite the many requests for resources and financial backing, the Mayor and the Governor of Manaus ignored our requests and the appeal of the youth in Manaus. In order to carry out the Ecosystem vision without the infrastructure and support from the government and Greenpeace, new strategies were developed to cut down costs. The festival site was relocated to private land close to the original site of the first two festivals, favors and friends where called in to supply sound and lighting systems, street promotion teams where assembled and hit the streets. Word spread, the Kids wanted the festival and on opening night the crowds started to appear growing each night and topping out on Saturday with over 8,000 in attendance. Although smaller compared to the first two festivals, the setting and vibe felt underground and intimate. There were two main stages featuring both returning DJs and new faces to Ecosystem from around the world. Drum N Bass, Trance, and techno rocked the stages continuously, broken now and then by live music and breaks. There was an area featuring BMX bikers and a chill area where down beat and reggae bumped from dusk till dawn and beyond. In addition, an amazing art show curated by a world renowned German American artist Ati, where crowds gathered to see and touch.
